Telangana Rifle Association (TRA) is affiliated to National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) and was re-established in the year 2014 contiguous to formation of new Telangana State in 2014 with a small number of members holding the primary objective of promoting the art of shooting sport among young, enthusiastic and aspiring athletes for creating a spirit of sportsmanship, discipline and self-reliance, amongst the shooting sport enthusiasts. Since then, TRA has augmented in strength and is continuing to be an agile & progressive institution which functions with an aim to elevate, develop & magnify shooting sport in the state.
TRA is an independent body registered under the Societies Registration Act. The Association holds the authority to affiliate district level associations as well as rifle clubs within the state. It is managed by multi dimension management with its elected governing body comprising of President, Sr. Vice President, Vice President, General Secretary, 2 Joint Secretaries and 6 Executive Committee Members. The General Secretary is the Chief Executive Officer and administrative in-charge of all day-to-day affairs of the association and the President is the final Authority for all official matters concerned.
Over the years TRA has identified, groomed and produced several talented shooters who have participated in Annual State level competitions, Zonal Competitions, All India GV Mavlankar Shooting Championship Competitions, KSS Shooting Championships, and won many medals and accolades to the Association both nationally and internationally. Our Shooters have represented the country at the National Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Shooting Championships, Junior World Cup Competitions, World Cup Competitions, International Championships, Olympics and Deaflympics shooting Championships and brought laurels to the Country and to the Association.
